Getting involved in other ways

There are lots of ways to get involved without having to be part of the Network (although we'd very much like it if you became a member!). We will promote opportunities to get involved because you are the ‘expert by experience’. All Local Authorities and NHS Trusts have a ‘duty to involve’ so it is their responsibility to not only ask how people want services but also to show how that involvement affected decision making.

We are here to help so please contact us if you want further information or to discuss how to get involved with ourselves, or with the organisations below we can provide with the answers (or if we don’t know the answers we will know someone who does!)

District and Borough Councils and SCIO

Local councils often consult residents on local planning and delivery, often on land use, health matters, spending, etc.
They often work closely with Community and Voluntary Services (CVSs) to ensure wide promotion. The CVSs through an organisation called SCIO (Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Consortium of Infrastructure Organisations) represent many charities and third sector organisations, who in turn represent many people receiving services on various partnership boards.
